Export opportunities promoted at the Livestock Event

The Livestock Event will be flying the flag for all British exhibitors – both livestock and from the supply sector at The NEC, Birmingham on 2 and 3 July 2014. Event organisers, RABDF Events Ltd has teamed up with UKTI who will be providing direction to international visitors looking to source British products and services, as well as offering professional advice to those British based companies interested to export and capture a share of the agri-export sector valued at £12 billion per year.

New to the event is the Export Centre, located within one of the main exhibition halls, which will act as a focal point for overseas buyers. In addition, an export breakfast seminar will be staged with the event’s principal sponsor, Barclays on the morning of the second day, Thursday, to which all British based companies and individuals are invited.

RABDF chief executive, Nick Everington commented: “The UK is renowned as the stockyard of the world which we will be showcasing with our National Dairy Show including seven dairy breeds, three national beef shows; British Charolais, British Blue and Aberdeen Angus as well as a National Lleyn sheep competition alongside a whole hall of semen companies.

“The world’s first combined live robotic demonstration will be of interest not only to dairy farmers, but also to farmers looking to save labour costs on finisher units. For those international visitors interested in farm vehicles then the event will offer the opportunity to test drive the latest 4x4s and UTVs on The NEC’s off road track. This will include British based Land Rover who are exhibiting for the first time with their Range Rover, Discovery and Defender models and JCB with their Workmax range of utility vehicles.”

Everington added “We are pleased to have this first time opportunity to work with UKTI which can assist UK companies and individuals in our sector either to export for the first time or break into new markets. In turn, we are looking forward to welcoming overseas visitors and inward missions to The NEC, the UK’s most easily accessed event. Livestock Event 2013 attracted representatives from 22 different countries.” www.livestockevent.co.uk
